As a jewelry maker, I constantly look for new ways to juxtapose materials. Pushing the boundaries within each collection, exploring precious metals but also working with materials that are less conventional, perhaps even ‘throw away’ or have only ‘scrap’ value. The spectrum of materials, include, metal, resin, wax, ceramics, wood, leather, enamel, acrylic paint, metal clay, and silicone. The natural world or urban and industrial landscapes are the inspiration that drives my creativity in making wearable art. Decay and degradation are some of the qualities reflected in the pieces I produce, interpreting these through less refined or finely polished qualities allow me to explore a more raw effect within my work.
I like to challenge expectations around “what is wearable”. Does it fit? Is it comfortable? Is it safe? Should I wear it? If the answer to those questions is no, then I find that more of an interesting and exciting starting point. I like to play around with the level of ergonomics or even completely remove it from the equation, perhaps making pieces deliberately uncomfortable or even cause pain. The wearable piece may instead just cause issues for the clothing around or that’s it is attached to, i.e. dragging it down or potentially causing damage.
I would consider myself a conceptual jeweller, creating work that has an idiosyncratic aesthetic. My pieces intentionally exploit and challenge the limits of wearability. When it comes to conventionality I am out, I like things outside the wearable norm.

the following are examples of my work.
